The expression \frac{x^2-6x+8}{ x^2+3x-10} is equivalent to

(A) \frac{x+4}{ x-5}

(B) \frac{x-4}{ x+5}

(C) \frac{x+4}{ x+5}

(D) \frac{x-4}{ x-5}

By using calculator we can easily find the roots of the quadratics , then factorize them and cancel out like factors, if any as follows:

\frac{x^2-6x+8}{ x^2+3x-10}=\frac{(x-2) (x-4)}{(x-2) (x+5)}

=\frac{(x-4)}{(x+5)}

Therefore the correct answer is (B).
