Statement (I) could be true since a-b<0 \Rightarrow a<b and if both a and b are negative then a-b<0.

So, we can eliminate each choice doesn’t contain statement (I), (B), (C) and (E).

Next we will examine the correctness of statement (II)

Given that a<0 <b then a-b is negative.

So, statement (II) can also be true.

Therefore the correct answer is (D).
