SAT math question - Divisibility

I need help with the following sat math question:

"When an integer number x is divided by 3, the quotient is 9 and the remainder is 1. Find the value of x "

SAT math divisibility

Given two integers a (dividend) and b (divisor), we can divide one by the other with a remainder: a=qb+r
the quotient, q indicates how many times b fits in a and the remainder r is what's left after that and hence 0\leqslant r<b

Therefore for your question we have

x=3*9+1=28
