We know that

(x+y)^2= x^2+2xy+y^2 =12+2(-\frac{3}{2})=12-3=9?

Therefore the correct answer is (A).

(x+y)^2= x^2+2xy+y^2 =12+2(-\frac{3}{2})=12-3=9?

Therefore the correct answer is (A).
